What it is
Vishwa Rang is the Tagore International Literature and Arts Festival, held by Rabindranath Tagore University and now in its eighth edition. In 2026 it runs in Patna and Nalanda from 3 to 8 October, and its last two days, 7 and 8 October, are at Nalanda University, which hosts them with the organisers. The festival's poster for Nalanda speaks of talks, a dialogue between languages, and art and cultural performances, and counts writers and artists from 70 countries, more than 1,000 in all, across the festival.

An exhibition tracing modern Indian art from the late nineteenth century to the present through works by 100 artists, held at Bihar Museum with the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. Galleries are open 10 am to 5 pm, closed Mondays, until 6 October.
Dr Himanshu Bajpai and Dr Pragya Sharma tell the life of Rani Lakshmibai in a dastangoi (storytelling) performance at Arthshila Patna, from her early years to her resistance against the British. Free, for ages 16 and above.
A guided heritage walk by Planet Patna through Patna City's Sikh, Hindu and Islamic sacred sites, with the stories and folklore attached to them. Participants report at 6:30 am and set off at 7:00.

The 42nd Patna Book Fair, organised by CRD at Gandhi Maidan from 4 to 15 December 2026 on the theme Joy of Reading. Publishers' stalls run beside book launches, poetry evenings, street plays, film screenings and school events.
Krishna Shukla's show Safarnama mixes storytelling, comedy, poetry and unscripted crowd work, drawing on personal anecdotes and shayari. At The Bifrost Studio from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
