Attendees can choose to perform or simply listen to the performances. Those who wish to perform drop their name into a hat at the venue, and the host selects ten people at random during the show. Each selected performer receives a five-minute slot to present a fiction or non-fiction story or a poem. At the end of the session, the organisers declare a performer of the night. The event is organised by Tape A Tale.
