Sat 12 Dec, 6:30 pm. KCC Amphitheatre. In English.
Papa Painter is staged by Ujaagar Dramatic Association, a Jaipur theatre group, in Kolkata Centre for Creativity's AMI Arts Festival 2026, which runs from 20 November to 20 December. Vijay Ashok Sharma wrote the play and performs it, and Ajeet Singh Pallawat directs. Set in the 1990s, it follows a family from rural Rajasthan through migration and change, a decade recalled through ration cards, PCO booths, Doordarshan and Bajaj scooters.
At its centre is a son who comes to know the person behind the word Papa. The play begins at 6:30 PM at the KCC Amphitheatre, and seats are booked on KCC's Razorpay page.
