Bengali Home Lunch & Story Table: Durga Pujo

Sun 25 Oct, 1 pm–6 pm. Diamond Park, Joka. In English.

  • Daytime, ends by 7 pm

What it is

Join us at Camellia.artisanal for a Bengali Home Lunch & Story Table in Kolkata—an unhurried Sunday afternoon exploring Durga Pujo over food, stories and adda. How did Durga Pujo become the Pujo we know today? How did the warrior Devi become Bengal’s daughter coming home?

What lies behind the rituals, the clay image and the art surrounding her? We’ll journey through mythology, history, rituals and their meanings, Tantric rites, craftsmanship and popular culture—following the many threads that come together in Bengal’s Pujo. Alongside the stories, we’ll serve a Bengali lunch cooked from scratch, course by course, in hand-beaten kansa ware.

Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, mishti made by us, and a Darjeeling tea ceremony to round off the afternoon. Come with friends, or come on your own. There’s a place for you at our table.
