Shillong Literary Festival, Edition VI

Thu 12 Nov – Sat 14 Nov. Ward’s Lake, Police Bazar. In English.

What it is

The festival has been held at Ward's Lake every November since 2021 and is an initiative of the Government of Meghalaya. Writers, poets and thinkers from Meghalaya, from other parts of India and from abroad take part in conversations and readings over three days; the organisers present it as a platform for the storytelling traditions of the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo communities alongside new writing. There are live performances as well, and food stalls run by local entrepreneurs.

The session-by-session programme for this sixth edition has not been published yet. Entry is with a delegate pass, for which registration is open on the festival's site; no fee is stated there. Three workshops are held before the festival, on 26 October and 11 November.
