Fri 9 Oct, 6:30 pm. Alliance Française du Bengale, Park Street. Free. In Bengali.
Alliance Française du Bengale cordially invites you to the launch of Paris à pied, a Bengali-language book by Avijit Ghosh, artist and designer who has made Paris his home for the past sixteen years. What happens when Paris is seen through Bengali eyes? What connects the banks of the Seine to the landscapes of Bengal?
Through paintings, poetry and personal reflections, Paris à pied traces a gentle journey between two cultures, exploring belonging, memory, multiculturalism and the beautiful similarities that bring people closer across borders. A long-standing artistic collaborator of Alliance Française du Bengale, Avijit Ghosh has presented several exhibitions in Kolkata, including Ganga to Seine in 2024. His new book continues this dialogue between Bengal and France, transforming his years in Paris into a deeply personal artistic and cultural narrative.
The evening will feature a 15-minute video journey through Paris, the formal launch of the book, poetry readings in Bengali, and an engaging conversation with the author.
