The Guwahati Marathon began in 2024 and returns for its third edition; its organisers, Paper Mache, call it Assam's first full marathon with international (AIMS) certification, and say the second edition drew 6,500 runners. There are four races: the marathon and the half marathon for runners aged 18 and above, a 10 km city run from age 12, and a 5 km joy run and walk for all ages, which is not timed. Entry is ₹1,600, ₹1,400, ₹1,200 and ₹1,000.
Every runner gets a finisher's medal, an event jersey, a kit bag and refreshments on the course, with timing and results for the timed races; prizes go to the top three men and women overall and in age groups from 18 to 70 and over. All four races are listed to start at 5:30 AM.
